Gareth Jones BSc, BVSc, CERTSAS, MRCVS

Gareth qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2001 in South Africa and has been working as a small animal Veterinary Surgeon since.

He obtained his certificate in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery in 2011. His Special interests include soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine and oncology.

In his spare time Gareth enjoys spending time with his family and every now and then a round of golf.

Lauren McCormack BVMS MRCVS

Lauren qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2015 and joined our team in January 2016. Originally from Glasgow, Lauren enjoys reminiscing with Mhairi and Alex about shops open on a Sunday evening and morning rolls.

Lauren has a particular interest in internal medicine and ultrasonography. She enjoys cryptic crosswords, writing, and reading, even proofreading – a hobby of which our student nurses make good use. We have never known her to decline a cup of tea.

Mhairi Grieve BVM&S MRCVS

Mhairi qualified from Edinburgh university in 2016. She started working at Tyldesley Veterinary Centre in August 2018. She enjoys all aspects of small animal practice but has a particular interest in surgery.

Outside of work Mhairi plays rugby and enjoys walks with her Miniature Dachshund, Dougal.

Zophia Keating

Zophia spends most of her time managing the practice and our wonderful team. Keeping everything running smoothly is more than a full time job, and on top of this Zophia is always looking for ways in which we can exceed our clients' expectations.

Most of Zophia's time is spent behind the scenes supporting our team, and complements the veterinary staff. She particularly likes the diversity and challenges that occur daily, and helping owners and their companions.

Outside of work Zophia is just as busy with her three boys, two dogs and cat. Unsurprisingly, the animals are easier to deal with.

Nicola Burrows RVN

Nicky has been at Tyldesley Vets since we opened in September 2000, she also assisted in the opening of Adlington Veterinary Centre in June 2015 and now splits her time between both practices.

She qualified in 1999 after doing her training at Myerscough College. She is our head nurse and is also in charge of the insurance paperwork. She has a Jack Russell, Rosie, who comes to work with her every day.

Nicky has a keen interest in horse riding and has two horses, Josh and Meg, whom she competes with most weekends.

Eleanor Johnson-Harter RVN

Eleanor has worked here since 2013. She trained in veterinary nursing at ProCo in Wigan, qualifying as a registered veterinary nurse in August 2015. Eleanor has two small dogs, Riley (Pug/Border terrier cross) and Minnie (Boston terrier), with whom she enjoys going on long dog walks.

Eleanor has a passion for interior design and has recently renovated her own home. Her other hobbies include gardening, crafting and Christmas.

Amy Ribbons BSc (Hons) RVN

Amy joined Tyldesley Veterinary Centre in February 2015. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2013 from Harper Adams University. She has a keen interest in alternative therapies including Hydrotherapy and Physiotherapy.

She also has an interest in Diabetes. Although not having any pets of her own she regularly looks after her grandma's Miniature Poodle, Harvey, and would love to have a dog of her own in
the future.

In her spare time Amy enjoys crafting, card making and scrapbooking. She is also a keen gamer.

Katie Heyes RVN

Katie qualified as a veterinary nurse from ProCo in Wigan in 2018. She has been part of the team at Tyldesley Vets since February 2014. Katie has a special interest in exotics, especially birds and rabbits.

Katie has a daughter and quite the menagerie at home, including two dogs, four rabbits, two pigeons, a cockatiel, a canary and a goldfish. In her free time Katie enjoys supporting local businesses and adding to her vast shoe collection.

Jade Nicholas SVN

Jade joined the practice at our grooming salon in Bents Garden Centre in April 2015 as one of our qualified groomers.

She has recently begun her Veterinary Nursing training and now splits her time between Tyldesley Veterinary Centre and the groomers.

She has a dog Conker, a pointer cross. She also has a crazy rescue cat called Archie.

Nicole Cruickshank SVN

Nicole joined the team in January 2019 as a trainee and will begin her veterinary nursing course in April.

When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and looking after her family pets, Tess, a Border Terrier cross, and two Bengal cats, Cassie and Mia.

Nicole's animal enthusiasm is not limited to our smaller friends. She also has a passion for horses and enjoys horse riding.
