Gareth (BSc, BVSc, CertSAS, MRCVS)

Gareth qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2001 in South Africa and has been working as a small animal Veterinary Surgeon since.

He obtained his certificate in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery in 2011. His Special interests include soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, internal medicine and oncology.

In his spare time Gareth enjoys spending time with his family and every now and then a round of golf.

Lauren qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2015 and joined our team in January 2016. Originally from Glasgow, Lauren enjoys reminiscing with Mhairi about shops open on a Sunday evening and morning rolls.

Lauren has a particular interest in internal medicine and ultrasonography. She enjoys cryptic crosswords, writing, and reading, even proofreading – a hobby of which our student nurses make good use. We have never known her to decline a cup of tea.

Mhairi (BVM&S MRCVS)

Mhairi qualified from Edinburgh university in 2016. She started working at Tyldesley Veterinary Centre in August 2018. She enjoys all aspects of small animal practice but has a particular interest in surgery.

Outside of work Mhairi plays rugby and enjoys walks with her Miniature Dachshund, Dougal.

Alex (MRCVS)

Alex graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2018 and joined our team in September 2019.

When he's not treating pets he may be found bouldering, hiking or playing video and tabletop games.

Alex has an interest in surgery and canine behaviour. He is also well known within the team for his baking skills!

Zophia spends most of her time managing the practice and our wonderful team. Keeping everything running smoothly is more than a full time job, and on top of this Zophia is always looking for ways in which we can exceed our clients' expectations.

Most of Zophia's time is spent behind the scenes supporting our team, and complements the veterinary staff. She particularly likes the diversity and challenges that occur daily, and helping owners and their companions.

Outside of work Zophia is just as busy with her three boys, two dogs and cat. Unsurprisingly, the animals are easier to deal with.

Nicky (RVN)

Nicky has been at Tyldesley Vets since we opened in September 2000, she also assisted in the opening of Standish Veterinary Centre in December 2019 and now splits her time between both practices.

She qualified in 1999 after doing her training at Myerscough College. She is our head nurse and is also in charge of the insurance paperwork. She has a Jack Russell, Rosie, who comes to work with her every day.

Nicky has a keen interest in horse riding and has two horses, Josh and Meg, whom she competes with most weekends.

Eleanor (RVN)

Eleanor has worked here since 2013. She trained in veterinary nursing at ProCo in Wigan, qualifying as a registered veterinary nurse in August 2015. Eleanor has two small dogs, Riley (Pug/Border terrier cross) and Minnie (Boston terrier), with whom she enjoys going on long dog walks.

Eleanor has a passion for interior design and has recently renovated her own home. Her other hobbies include gardening, crafting and Christmas.

Amy (BSc Hons RVN)

Amy joined Tyldesley Veterinary Centre in February 2015. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2013 from Harper Adams University. She has a keen interest in alternative therapies including Hydrotherapy and Physiotherapy.

She also has an interest in Diabetes. Although not having any pets of her own she regularly looks after her grandma's Miniature Poodle, Harvey, and would love to have a dog of her own in
the future.

In her spare time Amy enjoys crafting, card making and scrapbooking. She is also a keen gamer.

Beth (FdSc RVN)

Beth qualified in July 2017 from Myerscough university after completing her degree in Veterinary Nursing. She joined Tyldesley Vets in January 2020.

She is very interested in nursing clinics, including weight clubs

At home Beth has a 1 year old rescue dog called Mavis and two Weather Loaches Charles and Slinky (who like to jump out their fish tank and have a walk round every now and then).

In her spare time Beth loves going on long dog walks/adventures with my partner (also an RVN) and Mavis! She also loves spending time in Wales on holiday!

Jade (SVN)

Jade joined the practice at our grooming salon in Bents Garden Centre in April 2015 as one of our qualified groomers.

She has begun her Veterinary Nursing training and now splits her time between Tyldesley Veterinary Centre and the groomers.

She has a dog Conker, a pointer cross. She also has a crazy rescue cat called Archie.

Nicole (SVN)

Nicole joined the team in January 2019 as a trainee and began her veterinary nursing course last April.

When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and looking after her family pets, Tess, a Border Terrier cross, and two Bengal cats, Cassie and Mia.

Nicole's animal enthusiasm is not limited to our smaller friends. She also has a passion for horses and enjoys horse riding.

Emma joined the practice as our receptionist in March 2019. She has always had a love for animals and enjoys working with them everyday.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time with her partner and her family, and also has a passion for cooking and baking.

She currently has a Syrian Hamster, named Nugget, and hopes to have more pets in the future as she has recently moved into her first home.
